Lucifer #3

Part of DC Vertigo's 2019 Sandman Universe line, this third chapter carries the evocative title "The Annulment of Heaven and Hell" — and Kyle Hotz's cover art sets exactly that kind of unsettling tone. A long-haired, bearded figure strides forward clutching a bucket, flanked by a looming ghoulish creature and a raven, while tentacled, fleshy horrors writhe across the foreground around a glowing mystical wheel. Writer Dan Watters and artists Max and Sebastián Fiumara, with colors by Dave McCaig, continue what Comicosity called "dense and macabre… 10/10" storytelling in a series that clearly earns its Mature Readers label.
