As tensions rise, Sandalphon shares a haunting memory with Michael, recalling the final clash with the fallen angels, while Easterman confronts Elaine at her school—only to flee as police close in. Later, he’s cornered by Cal, a winged child serving Sandalphon, in a moment that deepens the mystery. Written by Mike Carey and illustrated by Peter Gross and Ryan Kelly, with colors by Marguerite Van Cook and Jamison, and lettered by Comicraft, the issue’s cover by Duncan Fegredo captures the eerie, otherworldly tone of the story.

Lucifer sets Musubi to guard the gateway from the host of heaven while he runs an errand elsewhere. David Easterman shows up at the Belloc residence claiming to be Elaine's biological father. Sandalphon recounts to Michael how he struck him down on the last day of battle with the rebellious angels. Easterman shows up at Elaine's school and tells her that he thinks that she is his daughter. He runs away from Elaine as the police approach. Later, he is found and threatened by Cal, a child with wings who works for Sandalphon.
