Low #12

A lone, spiky-armored figure stands atop a precarious tangle of twisted metal girders, silhouetted against a blazing, sun-drenched sky as vast ruins stretch across the desolate landscape below — it's a striking image of solitary defiance that captures everything Low does so well. Greg Tocchini's painterly cover work, awash in McCaig's deep reds and scorched golds, gives the scene an almost dreamlike intensity that feels both post-apocalyptic and mythic. Remender, Tocchini, and McCaig continue to make this one of Image's most visually arresting series, and issue #12 is no exception.
