This September 1945 Dell issue delivers a wonderfully playful beach scene, with Bugs Bunny popping up from a sandy mound to swap a can of carrot juice with a cheerful little puppy — while a gloved hand and a pair of feet belonging to some hapless, buried figure stick comically out of the sand nearby. Porky Pig peeks in from the side border, a starfish rests nearby, and a child's sand pail completes the sunny seaside chaos. Cover art by Dan Gormley captures the lighthearted spirit that made this long-running Dell series such a treat for young readers in the mid-1940s.
