# Long Bow #4 The issue features a "Lone Wolf" story in which the avenger confronts a supernatural demon in a forest setting, engaging in combat while a young orphan boy witnesses the battle. The narrative expands to depict Major Dade leading a fully equipped army of five hundred pioneers into the Everglades to battle the Seminole forces under Osceola, with one white man escaping the initial skirmish as the only survivor. The story concludes with Major Dade and his mercenary soldiers being killed in the swamp, and three months later, a simple Indian monument is raised to honor a young warrior who fought to protect his home.
