This anthology issue contains two stories: "Manzar: The Duel of the Devil-Knives," in which the white Indian Manzar defeats a fierce bear and tribal raiders through cunning and combat, earning the respect of the young warriors and helping end their raids; and "Orphan of the Storm" by Emila Jayne, where a Cheyenne orphan boy separated from his tribe during a Pawnee raid is taken in by a war veteran and later helps defend his adopted people against raiders by recovering a sacred arrow and halting an attack on their wagon train.
