With police now involved and the boys about to face serious charges, everyone learns that sometimes getting even comes with unexpected consequences.
Little Joe joins his friends' newspaper venture as a reporter to earn money for a broken window, but his hunt for a scoop turns into a comedy of bad luck—every potential story he finds gets derailed by unexpected disasters. When he finally returns empty-handed and lost, he discovers that sometimes the best news is simply making it home safe.

As they try everything from a washing machine to a chocolate coating to hide the damage, they discover that homemade candy entrepreneurship is trickier than it looks.
Little Eva's well-meaning behavior earns her a mysterious ailment that Aunt Amanda fears might be serious—until Dr. Rogers reveals the truth behind the "Galloping Pollywoggles." When a follow-up mishap leaves Eva producing bubbles whenever she speaks, chaos erupts as her friends arrive to join the fun, and Aunt Amanda discovers that peace and quiet are in very short supply.
