Little Eva #17 (1955)

In "Finders Weepers," Jo stumbles upon a mysterious object she initially mistakes for a candy or quarter, then pretends is a doctor’s stethoscope to play along with her imagination. Her playful deception leads her to the hospital, where she accidentally causes chaos in the nursery—only to realize too late that she’s not the one who needs help.

Jo, a boy nicknamed "Hot-Rod," is determined to avoid spending time with his visiting cousin Elfredda, whom he sees as a nuisance. Forced to entertain her by his mother, Jo tries to trick Elfredda into giving up by leading her on a series of increasingly ridiculous challenges, only to find his plans unravel when the girls end up bonding and ditching him for ice cream at the drugstore.

Determined to beat the heat, she sets off for a hidden swimming hole, only to realize too late she forgot her bathing suit—until a clever twist at home offers the perfect solution.

Jo and Clarence launch a makeshift perfume business using a repurposed garden sprayer, only to discover their concoction repels everyone—except flies. After a series of failed sales and slammed doors, they stumble upon an unexpected use when a florist recognizes the spray’s power to keep insects away.
