The Archies are cranking up the volume in this cheerful 1968 slice of Riverdale chaos — Archie shreds on electric guitar while his bandmates pound the drums and dance, as a blinding burst of amplifier power sends poor Mr. Lodge rocketing out of his armchair with his newspaper flying. Veronica's deadpan speech bubble delivers the perfect punchline: "Daddy only jumped six inches," suggesting the new amp still has some work to do. Frank Doyle and Harry Lucey serve up a wonderfully expressive cover that captures the generation-gap comedy of teenagers, rock and roll, and one very startled parent at its slapstick best.
