“Europe at War, Part 2”

In "Europe at War, Part 2," Lex Luthor—barely alive after a brutal clash with Superman—flees to the distant planet Lexor to recover, where he confronts the unexpected: his long-lost son. As Earth faces retaliation from one of Luthor’s own robots, Superman races to stop the escalating threat, unaware that Luthor’s desperate attempt to stabilize Lexor with a "neutrarod" may be his final act of redemption. Written by Cary Bates and illustrated by Curt Swan with inks by Murphy Anderson, this pivotal story features a cover by David Finch, Curt Swan, and John Sikela, and captures a defining moment in the villain’s legacy.

Barely alive after his latest fight with Superman, Luthor heads to Lexor to recover, where he meets his son for the first time. Meanwhile, back on Earth, one of Luthor's robots takes revenge in his master's stead. While Superman figures out how to deal with the revenge plot, Luthor stabilizes the core of Lexor with a "neutrarod" so it is not destroyed by internal stresses. Superman finally arrives on Lexor to fight once again with Luthor, but in the fight Luthor disrupts the rod, destroying the planet and killing his wife and son.
