In "null," Terry McGinnis confronts Thorn in the shadows of Neo-Gotham, pinning her to a chair after her violent display of authority over the city's underworld. Their tense exchange—framed by clipped questions about identity, purpose, and the weight of a costume—unfolds with quiet intensity, as Thorn searches for a kindred immortal in Terry, only to be met with a quiet denial that leaves her adrift in silence.
In "null," a lone figure in a tattered Superman costume waits in the ruins of a forgotten past, guarded by a simian elder who warns a young woman named Thorn not to touch it. When she ignores him, the elder claims ownership of all things—only to fall moments later, slain by her hand. As Thorn dons the iconic suit, a wary Kamandi appears, startled by her claim that it was her father’s, and she flees into the crumbling city, leaving him to follow.
