Legion of Super-Heroes #97

Part of DC's 1997 "Genesis" crossover event, this Legion of Super-Heroes issue promises a clash with the villainous Mantis — and the cover by Alan Davis and Mark Farmer makes the most of that premise. Spark beams front and center in her white-and-blue costume, grinning with evident confidence, while a massive green-armored Mantis looms behind her and a red-and-blue Legionnaire braces for the fight alongside her. The "Special Uplifting Issue!" banner and the teaser of new powers for Spark give this one a genuinely fun, energetic feel that Peyer, McCraw, and Moder carry right through to the credits.
