A wintry DC humor gem from 1948, this 52-page issue of Leading Comics spotlights Peter Porkchops and his pals Puss 'n Pooch in a wonderfully silly snow-day standoff. On Otto Feuer's charming cover, a bewildered wolf leans on his cane asking "Baseball? In the winter?!?" while a determined Peter Porkchops — decked out in a catcher's mask and bundled for battle — sets him straight: "Nosir, I'm going to a snowball fight!" With writer Jack Mendelsohn and artist Howie Post delivering the interior laughs in "People Don't Know Anything," this is lighthearted funny-animal storytelling at its most endearing.
