Le Fléau #1
This volume opens the French graphic novel adaptation of Stephen King's 'The Stand,' collecting the first part of the saga. It follows the escape of a deadly super-flu from a secret military lab, known as Captain Trips, as it begins to decimate the world's population. The story sets the stage for the apocalyptic struggle between the survivors of the plague.
"Chapitre 1" of Le Fléau #1 introduces a chilling descent into isolation and dread, following Charlie as he races to save his family from a mysterious, deadly force that has already claimed everyone else. Written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Hélène Dauniol-Remaud, with striking artwork by Mike Perkins and vibrant colors by Laura Martin, the story unfolds with quiet horror as Charlie’s desperate journey ends in tragedy at a Texas gas station—where the infection spreads to all who come near. The cover by Lee Bermejo captures the eerie stillness of the moment, a haunting prelude to what’s to come.
