Lash LaRue encounters a mysterious stranger in a butcher shop who persuades him to help locate a hidden cache of money stolen from the Fargo Company, hidden somewhere in a coach. After discovering the scheme involves multiple holdups by the Fargo Company itself, Lash is taken to a hide-out where he must escape to prevent the criminals from retrieving the stolen funds. In the main story "Lash LaRue and The Killers in the Hills," Lash works with the Chief Marshal to track down killers hiding in the hills and uncover a stagecoach robbery in Bordertown, where only a suitcase of clothes were stolen—setting up a case that will test his roving marshal skills.
