This August 1960 Charlton issue puts Lash LaRue in gripping danger right on the cover, where a bare-chested young man faces down a snarling puma mid-leap — claws out, jaws wide — in a tense, close-quarters standoff that sells the lead story "Puma on the Prowl" perfectly. A second vignette at the bottom shows armed figures in a gunfight, teasing the additional tales "Lawman Hater" and "The Scorpion's Nest."
