Kull, the Conqueror #6

Marie and John Severin's cover for this January 1973 issue tells you everything you need to know about the threat Kull faces: a massive, coiling crimson creature — "The Lurker from Below" — erupts from the waters of what appears to be a grand city harbor, sending warriors flying and scattering chaos across the waterfront. Kull himself charges sword-first into the beast's bulk, a red-haired woman in green caught in the mayhem beside him, while other soldiers are hurled aside by the creature's sheer size. Gerry Conway scripts the horror, with artwork from Marie and John Severin bringing this ancient, monstrous menace to vivid, unsettling life.
