As the replacements hunt down Mitrian and Robert, Challenger comes out of his coma, and catches up with the two youths. Hamilton’s and Smith’s machinations are then revealed: they are replacing the Machiners with androids. Just as the remaining members of the Machine fall, the real Demon shows up.
