“The Lightning Saga, Chapter One: Lightning Lad”

In "The Lightning Saga, Chapter One: Lightning Lad," the Justice League of America and the Justice Society of America converge on Suicide Swamp to rescue Triplicate Girl, the last missing Legionnaire from the 21st century, unaware that the Secret Society’s old base is now a living trap. As Computo awakens and strikes, Superman recognizes the eerie déjà vu—but the real mission is already underway, with the Legion using the chaos to move forward unseen. Written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Dale Eaglesham with stunning contributions from Alex Ross on both art and cover, this issue blends classic team dynamics with a haunting, layered mystery.

While Superman tells the JSA and JLA about the Legion of Super-Heroes, the Legion heads for Suicide Swamp to retrieve the last Legionnaire lost in the 21st century from one of the Secret Society's old headquarters. But a team of JSAers and JLAers has beaten the Legion there. The team finds Triplicate Girl, and just as everyone else arrives, the headquarters comes to life as Computo and kills one of Triplicate Girl's bodies. Superman realizes he has seen this before and that they are all fighting an illusion. But the Legionnaires have used this distraction to head off to complete their mission.
