Jughead with Archie Digest #63

Dan DeCarlo's cover for this 1984 digest says it all with a single perfectly timed gag: Archie sits dutifully at a desk, pen in hand, while a supremely relaxed Jughead — feet propped up, smirking from ear to ear — cheerfully announces he'll handle "the erasing." A small vignette at the top corner even shows a girl happily reading, and a second tiny scene at the bottom hints at more Riverdale fun tucked inside. Packed with the kind of easygoing humor that made these digests such reliable company, issue #63 is a fine sampler of Archie-universe charm at its most warmly comedic.
