“The Right Type!”

Jughead is living his best life in this August 1991 issue, riding a coin-operated "Ace Flyer" kiddie plane ride like a fighter ace — complete with aviator goggles, a leather jacket, and fists flying to the tune of "Ka-Pow! Ka-Pow!" while onlookers react in wide-eyed disbelief. Rex W. Lindsey's cover captures the irresistible absurdity of Jughead refusing to give up his 25-cent ride, with a speech bubble cheekily noting he's "bound to run out of quarters sometime." This issue also celebrates Archie's 50th Anniversary and salutes writer Frank Doyle as Writer of the Month, making it a fun slice of Riverdale history.
