JSA: Our Worlds at War #1

Part of DC's sweeping 2001 "Our Worlds at War" crossover event, this one-shot pulls the Justice Society into the cosmic conflict with a cover by Jae Lee that sets a suitably epic tone. Looming ghost-like across a star-filled sky are the faces of several JSA veterans — including a grim, helmed figure and an older cowboy-hatted hero — while below them a determined group of active members, among them Hawkman, a winged figure, a blonde hero in blue, and a caped figure, stand atop rocky ground surveying the battlefield ahead. With Geoff Johns writing and the art team of Javier Saltares and Ray Kryssing on interior pages, "Call to Arms" promises the kind of multigenerational heroism the JSA does best.
