Jonah Hex #69

A weathered, scarred Jonah Hex stares out from beneath his battered hat while a dark vulture perches ominously atop it — Jeff Lemire's cover art distills the grim poetry of the Old West into a single unforgettable image. The story "The Old Man," written by Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti with art by Lemire, promises exactly the kind of haunted, hardscrabble storytelling this series does so well. This September 2011 issue is a fine example of DC's frontier noir at its most atmospheric.
