“Come Helix and High Water!”

Todd McFarlane's cover for this May 1986 issue wastes no time setting the stakes: a massive shark-themed villain called Carcharo bursts from the water, clutching a blue-costumed hero by the hair as the rest of Infinity, Inc. — including a winged figure, a green-skinned woman, and a blonde hero in white — rushes in to respond, with a red-clad figure riding a capsizing boat in the background. The New Wildcat is also announced as a guest star, adding another layer of excitement to what already looks like an all-hands-on-deck waterborne showdown. Roy Thomas, Dann Thomas, McFarlane, and Tony DeZuniga bring real visual energy to this mid-series chapter of DC's next-generation superhero team.
