Inferior Five #2

The second chapter of this 12-issue DC maxi-series delivers an immediate jolt of dread, with a massive, craggy creature — red-eyed, clawed, and looming with unmistakable menace — bearing down on a wide-eyed young woman who looks like she's running out of options fast. The tagline "The Monsters Are Due on Danger Street!" sets a wonderfully ominous tone, and the cover work by Keith Giffen and Michelle Delecki wrings every bit of tension out of that size difference. Rounding out the package, Peacemaker gets a spotlight badge in the corner, hinting that this series has plenty more going on beneath the surface.
