Inferior Five #3

Issue three of this six-part DC Universe mini-series delivers a cover that's genuinely hard to look away from: a dark, clawed figure stands at the base of an enormous, amorphous blue creature whose single unsettling red eye dominates the composition, debris and purple organic tendrils radiating outward to fill the frame. The scale contrast between the lone figure below and the looming mass above gives the image a real sense of dread, rendered with confident linework by Keith Giffen and Michelle Delecki. "Chapter 3: Red Rising" also promises a Peacemaker backup feature, making this a nicely packed installment of a team book that clearly isn't afraid to go strange.
