Inferior Five #1

The opening issue of this 12-issue DC maxi-series sets an unsettling tone right from the cover, where a massive, pale figure with an ominous X-marked face looms over a crumbling building while two small, glowing-eyed figures scramble through the rubble below — promising something far more eerie than the team's Silver Age roots might suggest. "Chaos in the Wake of the Invasion!" declares the cover copy, and with Keith Giffen and Jeff Lemire co-writing, there's real creative firepower behind this reimagining. Peacemaker is also along for the ride, his helmeted portrait featured prominently in the corner, making this a compelling start to what looks like a genuinely ambitious series.
