This issue contains two stories. "Manzar: The White Indian in 'Cheyennes Are Fighting Men'" depicts a cavalry stockade escape in which prisoners are released and young bucks make a break for the gate, leading to a pursuit and gunfire. The second story, "Lone Bow" by Captain Stuart Kerrigan, follows a hunting party tracking game across the plains until they encounter grizzly bears, forcing them to abandon their hunt and return to camp, where a disagreement erupts over whether to pursue the dangerous animals further.
