“It Ain't Easy Being Greenery”

Impulse finds himself in serious trouble on this December 1999 cover, bound by cables and restrained in some kind of contraption while the armored, caped villain Sir Real looms over him with a menacing grin — glowing green hands and bursts of energy crackling all around them. Ethan Van Sciver's pencils (inked by Barbara Kaalberg) bring a kinetic, slightly chaotic energy that suits DC's speedster perfectly. With a story titled "It Ain't Easy Being Greenery," writer Shon C. Bury and artist Van Sciver look to be putting Bart Allen through his paces in a genuinely entertaining way.
