Impulse #31 (November 1997) leans into its own irreverent charm right from the cover, which cheekily announces that "absolutely NOTHING like this scene happens" inside — a wink that perfectly captures the series' playful humor. Cover artists Jeff Matsuda and Wayne Faucher deliver a lively street-level brawl featuring a masked, blue-clad fighter squaring off against a wild-haired, lab-coated werewolf-like figure, while a red-and-white costumed character (clutching what looks like a football) leaps through the background.
