Milestone Media's Icon #13 brings the chain-wielding Buck Wild — Mercenary Man front and center in a kinetic cover by M. D. Bright, as the muscle-bound figure in gold and yellow crashes through debris while gripping heavy chains, flanked by a startled young woman and a looming heavyset man at left, with a chaotic brawl unfolding in the background. Two additional figures peer in from the top of the frame, giving the composition a sense of a much larger conflict closing in. Dwayne McDuffie's story, titled "It's Always Christmas," promises the kind of sharp, energetic storytelling that made Milestone's 1994 lineup so distinctive.
