Hornsby & Halo #5

The odd-couple charm of Hornsby & Halo gets a serious upgrade in issue #5, as the cover by Peter Snejbjerg sends our little devil — trident and flame in hand — and the winged angel figure straight into the looming, glowing-eyed presence of the Adjudicator, a colossal and genuinely unsettling figure who dwarfs them both. There's a wonderful tension between the series' playful energy and this genuinely imposing threat, with John Kalisz's colors giving the scene a deep, moody atmosphere that feels like the stakes have real weight. Peter J. Tomasi's "Family Odysseys" series continues to deliver something warm and adventurous that works for readers of all ages.
