This 2009 Vertigo issue opens Peter Milligan's three-part "Scab" arc, with a cover by Lee Bermejo that pulls no punches: a gaunt, grimacing Constantine tears open his jacket to reveal the word "SCAB" branded across his torso, while an angry crowd of strikers with picket signs surges behind him. The image crackles with working-class tension, placing Constantine right at the fault line between solidarity and betrayal. With interior art by Giuseppe Camuncoli and Stefano Landini, it's a striking start to what promises to be one of the series' more politically charged storylines.
