Hellblazer #231
Part two of Andy Diggle and Leonardo Manco's "In at the Deep End" arc finds John Constantine in a deeply unsettling state — Lee Bermejo's cover renders him bound in heavy chains, his face grotesquely distorted, drifting through a murky golden void as debris swirls around him. The atmosphere is suffocating and otherworldly, with Bermejo's painterly detail making every corroded link and ravaged feature feel viscerally real. Vertigo's mature-readers flagship has rarely looked this hauntingly beautiful.
