The cover of this June 1967 issue says it all — Green Lantern is miniaturized and trapped within the glowing yellow eye of a massive alien giant, his power ring blazing green as he strains to break free. Penciled by Carmine Infantino and inked by Murphy Anderson, the close-up of that looming extraterrestrial face is genuinely unsettling, making the hero look startlingly small against such an otherworldly threat. "Captive of the Evil Eye!" promises the kind of imaginative, high-concept peril that made Silver Age DC comics such a distinctive treat.
