DC Special #19 brings together three of DC's heaviest hitters under the thrilling banner "War Against the Giants," and Ernie Chan's cover lays out the action in vivid fashion. Four panels showcase the mayhem: Superman trading blows with a massive purple-caped figure (Eterno), Green Lantern trapped within the enormous, unsettling eye of a giant creature, an indestructible giant rampaging through what appears to be a carnival or fairground while onlookers flee, and Wonder Woman dangling helplessly as part of a giant's charm bracelet. With interior work on the Superman story by writer Jim Shooter and artist/inker Wayne Boring, this 1975 anthology is a genuinely fun showcase of the era's giant-sized superhero storytelling at its most imaginative.
