Green Lantern #41

From December 1965 comes this energetic DC clash between two of the era's most visually striking characters. The cover by Gil Kane and Murphy Anderson puts Green Lantern flat on his back, wracked by crackling bolts of cold fire, while a triumphant Star Sapphire looms above in her vivid pink costume — the banner below spelling out the delicious paradox: "If he wins — he loses! And if he loses — he wins!" Gardner Fox's story, brought to life by Kane's pencils with inks by Sid Greene, promises a battle-of-the-sexes twist that gives this issue a personality all its own.
