“The Standard Model”

In "The Standard Model," Jessica makes her first major move in the Green Lantern Corps' ongoing struggle, taking down three Yellow Lanterns and bringing them to New Korugar. Impressed by her resolve, Sinestro offers her a chance to join the Sinestro Corps—and with a captured yellow ring, she returns to Earth, only to intercept a starship in distress. Her attempt to save it puts her directly at odds with Hal Jordan, setting the stage for a clash of ideals and power. Written by Ryan Cady and illustrated by Sami Basri and Tom Derenick, with colors by Hi-Fi and letters by Rob Leigh, the cover by Bernard Chang captures the tension of that pivotal moment.

After capturing three Yellow Lanterns, Jessica brings them to New Korugar using one of the captured yellow power rings. Impressed by her actions, Sinestro tries to get her to join the Sinestro Corps and allows her to use a yellow power ring to get back to Earth, where she encounters a starship in distress. She uses the yellow ring to attempt to save the ship, but that brings her into conflict with Hal Jordan.
