Green Lantern #170
In "The Inheritance!", Green Lantern #170 (1983) delivers a poignant moment in the Corps' legacy as Krista faces a pivotal decision, guided by a mysterious stone from the Guardians. The story unfolds across two timelines: one following the tragic passing of Lodar Monak, who entrusts his ring to his untrained son Meeno, and another tracking the aftermath as the Guardians pass the ring to a rebel on Z'nang. Written by Gary Cohn and illustrated by George Tuska and Mike Sekowsky, with inks by Gary Martin, Frank McLaughlin, and Rodin Rodriguez, and colors by Anthony Tollin, the issue's striking cover by Gil Kane captures the weight of legacy and duty.
