“Beginning's End”

In "Beginning's End," Kyle Rayner journeys through time to confront the legacies of past Green Lanterns, guided by Hal Jordan’s wisdom and shaped by a long-overdue reunion with his birth father. After a pivotal meeting with Ganthet on Oa, Kyle sacrifices part of his Ion power to restore the Guardians—now reborn as children—before crafting a new Green Lantern suit that reflects his journey. Written by Judd Winick and illustrated by Pat Quinn with contributions from Dale Eaglesham, the issue features a striking cover by Jim Lee and Scott Williams.

Kyle uses his Ion powers to travel back in time and witness the histories of the various Green Lanterns of Earth. He considers changing the past and preventing Hal from becoming Parallax but is talked out of it by Hal himself. Kyle then tracks down and meets his birth father for the first time and they talk at length about the past. Kyle next makes his way to Oa where he consults with Ganthet and gives up a large portion of his Ion powers to resurrect the Guardians of the Universe, albeit as children. Finally, he returns to Earth where he creates a new Green Lantern costume for himself.
