Green Arrow #2
This volume collects issues #6-11 of the Rebirth-era Green Arrow series, following Oliver Queen as he grapples with the fallout of his father's secrets and the revelation of a half-sister, Emiko Queen. The story takes Oliver to a mysterious island where he confronts his past and faces new threats, deepening his bond with Emiko as they navigate family ties and the legacy of the Green Arrow mantle.
In "Sins of the Mother," Emi finds herself hunted by the Yakuza Oyabun after Shado takes her to Tokyo, forcing her to confront a deadly fate on her own terms. Flashbacks reveal the early days of Emi’s life with Oliver, when her curiosity about her classmates led her into the shadow of the Clock King’s influence. Written by Benjamin Percy and illustrated by Stephen Byrne—whose bold artwork brings both the past and present into sharp focus—this issue deepens Emi’s journey with quiet intensity. The cover by Otto Schmidt captures the tension of her solitary resolve.
In "Sins of the Mother," Emi confronts the dangerous legacy of her past when Shado takes her to Tokyo to face the Yakuza Oyabun who has ordered her death. Determined not to be a victim, Emi sets out to find the Oyabun herself, unraveling secrets from her time with Oliver and the unsettling influence of the Clock King that shaped her earliest days.
In "Island of Scars Part One," Oliver Queen and Dinah Lance are stranded on a remote island after the destruction of the Inferno, forced to rely on each other as they navigate the isolation and mystery of their surroundings. Meanwhile, Diggle is separated and captured by an unseen enemy, leaving the trio's fate uncertain.
In "Island of Scars Part Two: Tracks," Oliver and Dinah find themselves entangled in a hidden conflict on a remote island, where they meet Ata and his wife Ana—scientists whose groundbreaking work has been twisted by the Ninth Circle into a deadly drug. As past secrets resurface and the island's scars reveal a darker truth, they must navigate fractured alliances and a growing threat to save Diggle and face the consequences of Ana’s transformation.
In "Murder on the Empire Express," Ollie, Dinah, and Diggle board the underwater Trans-Pacific railway to escape the island, only to find themselves trapped with a peace delegation from Middle Eastern nations—just as Eddie Fyers, a deadly assassin hired to stop the talks, slips aboard. The train’s claustrophobic tunnels become a deadly stage as trust frays and the real target becomes clear.
In "Murder Incorporated," Ollie, Dinah, and Diggle find themselves framed for the murder of Amin Mustafa, the peace delegation's leader, aboard the Empire Express. With a swarm of guards closing in and Eddie Fyers planning to destroy the entire train, the trio must survive the chaos and stop him before he vanishes into the wreckage.
