A marine major is selected to become the first man to orbit the moon. After his capsule returns to Earth, he crashes into the sea near a sleeping Gorgo and his mother. Gorgo befriends the marine and lets him ride on his head. The marine eventually guides Gorgo to New York City so he can return home.
