Aliens known as Betans (who are tall slender purple humanoids in gold outfits) transport Godzilla to their secret base on the moon and pit him against their monster the Beta-Beast (a large alien silverfish-like monster with bug eyes and quills). Godzilla kills the monster with his atomic breath. This impresses the Betans who hope he can fight off their enemies the Megans (red cyclopean humanoids) who are launching a trio of powerful monsters to destroy Earth. The Betans send Godzilla back to Earth as one of the monsters, Triax , reaches Earth knocking Red Ronin out of the sky.
