“The Yesterday Connection!”

Two titans of very different eras collide in this 1975 Marvel oversized treat — Spider-Man and Doc Savage face a looming "Menace from Beyond Time!" as the cover by Gil Kane, Frank Giacoia, and Mike Esposito dramatically depicts the two heroes surging forward together, with a massive, snarling figure dominating the foreground and a green-costumed female character visible in the lower corner. For 50 cents you got 68 big pages including a story by Stan Lee with art by Steve Ditko, making this one genuinely satisfying package for fans of either the web-slinger or the bronze superhero of the 1930s.

When the Circus of Crime comes to town, they advertise that Spider-Man will be appearing in an attempt to fill the big top before they rob it. Spider-Man sees the advertisements and decides he will show up. He is hypnotized along with the rest of the audience, but unfortunately for the Circus of Crime, the Daredevil is in attendance and immune to the Ringmaster's hat.
