The 2024 Geiger ongoing is part of the Ghost Machine publishing collective — a creator-owned and operated media company founded in October 2023 by Geoff Johns, Gary Frank, and peers including Bryan Hitch, Jason Fabok, and Francis Manapul, publishing through Image Comics. Johns and Frank retain co-ownership of Geiger and all related characters, a structural arrangement the founders explicitly framed as a creative emancipation from work-for-hire publisher norms. The series launched in April 2024 as the flagship title of Ghost Machine's 'Unnamed' shared universe, picking up directly from the 2021 miniseries and the 2023 prequel Geiger: Ground Zero. Issue #6 was published September 11, 2024, and the entire six-issue arc was subsequently collected in Geiger TP, Vol. 2 (February 2025), which also incorporates a story from the Geiger 80-Page Giant.
