Gambit #13
Gambit looks genuinely rattled on this Kevin Maguire and Mark McKenna cover — a compelling sight for a character who usually plays it cool — as he presses against what appears to be a large containment cylinder filled with glowing green biomass, a woman's face and body visible and disturbingly entangled within its writhing tendrils. The cover tagline "What Sinister Secrets Hide Below?" sets a memorably unsettling tone, and a pair of disembodied red eyes lurking in the darkness behind Gambit only deepen the dread. Part two of "The Sunset Dawn" arc, this 2000 issue from Fabian Nicieza, Anthony Williams, and Andy Lanning promises exactly the kind of shadowy, conspiratorial territory that suits Remy LeBeau best.
