About this Collection

This volume kicks off IDW's comprehensive re-presentation of the original Marvel G.I. Joe series, collecting issues #1-12 along with the G.I. Joe: Order of Battle series. It presents Larry Hama's foundational run in a restored, recolored format with extensive bonus material, including character profiles and behind-the-scenes content. A definitive starting point for experiencing the classic '80s military adventure saga in its intended reading order.

"Operation: Lady Doomsday" kicks off with Scarlett and Snake-Eyes stranded in the desert, cut off from the team as Rock N Roll takes on a high-stakes mission to deliver a critical package to Stalker and Clutch. With tension mounting and ammo running low, the trio’s survival hinges on a last-minute rescue—just as the team prepares to return home. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Don Perlin, with inks by Jack Abel, colors by Glynis Wein, and letters by Rick Parker, this pivotal issue features a cover by Shawn Lee.
