G.I. Joe: Cobra #5

Sep 2011 · IDW · 3.99 USD

In G.I. Joe: Cobra #5 (2011), Chameleon, held captive by the G.I. Joe team, is given a dangerous mission by Hawk: infiltrate the ranks and uncover any remaining Cobra spies among the Joes. As she begins her assignment, tensions rise when she and Firewall question Steeler about Breaker’s death, while Major Bludd escapes a hijacked plane and reunites with Headman and Tomax at a remote airport. Meanwhile, Steeler—known to some as Black-Out—receives a cryptic call and a new directive, all while a new Joe base is introduced to him by a fellow operative. Written by Mike Costa and illustrated by Werther Dell'Edera, with colors by Arianna Florean and letters by Shawn Lee, the cover by David Williams captures the issue’s high-stakes tension.

Chameleon considers her position as a prisoner of G.I. Joe. She is summoned before Hawk, who gives her her assignment: find out if there are any more Cobra spies among the Joes. She and Firewall question Steeler about Breaker's death. Major Bludd parachutes out the plane he hijacked after killing the crew. He and Headman meet with Tomax at an airport. He talks to Steeler (Black-Out) on the phone. He tells him to get him more information, quicker. A random Joe introduces Steeler to the new Joe base.
