“Blood on the Tracks”

"Blood on the Tracks" kicks off a high-stakes crossover with G.I. Joe and the Transformers in 1987, as the Joes are deployed to protect Power Station Alpha from the Dreadnoks. When Megatron sends Dirge and Bombshell to seize control, Bumblebee is already on the scene as Optimus Prime’s scout—just as Bombshell manipulates young Anthony Duranti into a deadly trap. With tensions rising and the station under threat, Bumblebee’s choice to reveal himself could change everything. Written by Michael Higgins and illustrated by Herb Trimpe, with inks by Vince Colletta, colors by Nel Yomtov, and letters by Joe Rosen, the cover by Trimpe and Colletta captures the chaos in bold, dynamic style.

Power Station Alpha, a mobile power station, is unveiled, and the G.I. Joe team are sent to guard it. The Dreadnoks attack, but the Joes manage to fight them off. Megatron sends Dirge and Bombshell to the power station to take control of it, but Optimus Prime has also dispatched Bumblebee there as well to act as a scout. Bombshell injects young Anthony Duranti with one of his cerebro-shells and instructs him to throw himself under the tracks of the power station, but Bumblebee decides to reveal himself to save Anthony. The Joes direct all their firepower at Bumblebee and blow him apart.
