G.I. Joe, a Real American Hero #88
In "Python Patrol," the G.I. Joe team splits into two fronts: Hawk, Roadblock, and Skidmark advise General Leiderkranz in Wolekuckuckland after he acquires surplus Joe vehicles, while Snake-Eyes, Scarlett, Flint, and Lady Jaye go undercover to uncover a weapons smuggling ring from Darklonia. Meanwhile, Destro, the Baroness, Fred, and Mindbender test a new stealth technology—making vehicles invisible to radar and infrared—on a daring border raid, exploiting a brief moment of compromised surveillance. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Tony Salmons with inks by Randy Emberlin, this 1989 issue delivers sharp espionage tension and a clever twist on surveillance, with a cover by Salmons and Emberlin.

Hawk, Roadblock, and Skidmark are military advisors to General Leiderkranz in Wolekuckuckland, who has just recently bought some surplus Joe vehicles from the U.S., while Snake-Eyes, Scarlett, Flint, and Lady Jaye are undercover trying to figure out who's smuggling weapons across the border from Darklonia (home to Destro's half-brother Darklon) to Wolekuckuckland. Meanwhile, Mindbender tries to sell the idea of selling to Darklon vehicles (from Joe and Cobra surpluses) that are invisible to radar and infrared aka the 'Pythonizing' process alongside Destro, the Baroness, and Fred, which succeeds when they do a trial run across the border and attack the General's forces (although it was only successful because Wolfgang was bribed to turn off the radar system for a few minutes). The attack is repulsed, and Fred, Baroness, and Mindbender are forced to walk back into a nearby village to get home, while Destro and Darklon are safe back in Darklonia.
